Military Children to Receive Scholarships From Sale of '2008 FREEDOM' Wine
Singing Water Vineyards along with some of its suppliers are working with The Fisher House Foundation to provide scholarships for military children by donating partial proceeds from the sale of their 2008 FREEDOM wine.
COMFORT, Texas, Oct. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- On Saturday Oct. 30, 2010, at the winery near Comfort, Texas, Singing Water Vineyards will release a new wine called FREEDOM. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of FREEDOM will be donated to the Fisher House Foundation to provide college scholarships for military children.
The program was created in recognition of the contributions of military families to the readiness of the fighting force. Scholarships are awarded to sons and daughters of active duty, retired, and deceased military personnel. Many of the winery's suppliers and customers, including active military personnel, have expressed their overwhelming support for this project. The wine to be released is the 2008 vintage of FREEDOM. It is a blend of Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot. It has been aged in oak barrels for 24 months and is considered a premium red wine.
