Millennium Health Receives Accreditation in Microbiology from the College of American Pathologists
The Company meets the most comprehensive laboratory quality standards for its DxWound test
SAN DIEGO, Jan. 23, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Millennium Health, LLC has been awarded accreditation in microbiology by the College of American Pathologists (CAP), based on results of a recent on-site inspection as part of the CAP Accreditation Program. This achievement demonstrates that the Company has attained the highest standard of excellence in laboratory practices and indicates the laboratory meets these high quality standards for the DxWound molecular microbiology test. DxWound is a product of CogenDx, the genetics brand of Millennium Health, LLC.
DxWound uses DNA-based technology to provide accurate, sensitive detection of an array of microbes, including aerobic and anaerobic bacteria, fungi, and antibiotic resistance genes.

The U.S. Government recognizes the CAP Laboratory Accreditation Program as being equal-to or more stringent than its own inspection program. During the CAP accreditation process inspectors examine the laboratory's records and review its procedures, quality control measures and safety program. Inspectors also assess the qualifications of the laboratory's staff and management, and inspect the laboratory's equipment and facilities. In its recent CAP on-site inspection, Millennium Health's laboratory received zero deficiencies and zero recommendations.
The accreditation adds to Millennium Health's previous CAP accreditations for molecular pathology, chemistry and toxicology testing.
