Millennium Partners Sports Club Management LLC Announces Key Leadership Changes to Prepare for Future Growth

BOSTON, Jan. 26, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Millennium Partners Sports Club Management LLC, the Boston-based operator of the Reebok Sports Club/NY and The Sports Club/LA in Boston, New York, Miami, San Francisco, and Washington DC, today announces that due to a new capital partnership, the company is making strategic leadership changes to prepare for the future growth of the company.  Chief Executive Officer, Art Curtis, Ph.D. will transition to parent company, Millennium Partners, to focus on mergers and acquisitions of health club properties, and Smaiyra M. Million, Chief Operating Officer, has been promoted to Chief Executive Officer.

A senior athletic club industry executive with more than 30 years of experience, Dr. Curtis currently holds the position of chairperson of The International Health, Racquet & Sportsclub Association's (IHRSA) board of directors.  

Ms. Million, with more than 25 years of experience in the hospitality and health club industry, brings a wealth of experience to her new role as Chief Executive Officer.  Previously as COO, she closely oversaw the operations of the company's six premier health clubs.  Beforehand, she worked in numerous management roles within The Sports Club Company and ten years with The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company. Ms. Million is also a frequent speaker on the topic of creating five-star corporate cultures for industry associations and educational organizations, including Suffolk University's Sawyer Business School.
