Mina Group Supports UK Environment Project With Prime Minister David Cameron

Mina Group, the integrated energy services and infrastructure company that provides comprehensive solutions to defense, government, and commercial customers around the world, has reinforced its commitment to corporate social responsibility through its financial support of Burford Secondary School's educational project promoting the British countryside and environment.

Burford is a rural state school in Oxfordshire, United Kingdom with over 1,100 students. A number of educational initiatives have been taking place reinforcing the school's strong focus on rural matters and environmental concerns.

Mina Group's sponsorship (through its affiliate Northlink Energy) was marked at an event in June 2014 attended by British Prime Minister David Cameron and retired Poet Laureate, Sir Andrew Motion.

Rural and agricultural matters are inevitably a big part of the lives of students and families who attend Burford, and the project reinforces the school's commitment to promoting thought and accommodating the educational needs and priorities of the school and local community in its environment context.

In June, the school's science department introduced an 'Environmental Land Based Science' GCSE course, and staff and students devoted time and energy to the transformation of an acre of wasteland into paddocks and vegetable and flower gardens for the students to use as part of the course. This area was the focus of the June event attended by the Prime Minister and has since proved its worth to the many students utilising it as part of their studies.
