Mining Armenia Forum 2026: Unlocking Armenia's Investment Potential
YEREVAN, Armenia, Nov. 2, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The future of Armenia's mining industry depends not only on its mineral wealth and investment potential, but also on public trust, cooperation between the state and industry, and responsible resource management. These priorities shaped the discussions at the third annual Mining Armenia Forum 2026, which brought together government representatives, international experts and industry leaders.
The two-day Forum featured more than 30 presentations, panels and roundtables, with around 50 speakers from Armenia and 14 other countries. The event was attended by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan and other government officials.
Among the international speakers was Mark Cutifani, Director and Executive Advisor. "As the world shifts technology focus around sources of energy and other new technologies, Armenia's natural copper and molybdenum endowments become a significant source of new value to and for the country. Given where its industry stands today, Armenia has an opportunity to build off the experience it already has with mining, to think on a much broader scale to build a meaningful "Materials Solutions Industry," said Mark Cutifani.
Mining Armenia Forum partnered with Resourcing Tomorrow, in setting up a keynote panel on mining investments, ahead of the Armenian Mining and Metallurgy Association's and Armenian Government's participation in Resourcing Tomorrow in London November 30 - December 2.
Andrew Thake, Divisional Director of Resourcing Tomorrow, said: "The forum serves as a vital platform for unlocking new investment opportunities. With nearly 400 participants, the event demonstrated a shared commitment to driving innovation and mobilizing capital for the sector. Our message to international partners is clear: explore Armenia's untapped potential, join us at next year's forum, and make a forward-looking investment decision."
Wood Mackenzie presented its Mining Investment Perception Survey on Armenia, identifying strong industry expertise and mineral potential alongside challenges related to geological data quality and regulatory predictability.
"Armenia has a strong foundation to build upon, with a long mining history, experienced professionals, and significant geological potential. The opportunity is there, but attracting new investment will require better geological data, greater regulatory clarity, and a more predictable investment environment," said Wael Jaber, Vice President, Mining & Metals Consulting at Wood Mackenzie.
The Forum was organized by the Mining Forum Development Foundation and the Mining and Metallurgy Association of Armenia. Zangezur Copper and Molybdenum Combine and Lydian Armenia were strategic sponsors; Ameriabank and Teghut CJSC were main sponsors.
