Ministry of Education Authorizes 44 New Courses of Ser Educacional in the Northeast and North Regions
New courses account for 10,000 new College places: 52% in Health, Engineering and Teaching and 64% of courses with (CC) Course Concept 4
RECIFE, Brazil, July 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Ser Educacional (BM&FBOVESPA SEER3, Bloomberg SEER3:BZ and Reuters SEER3.SA), one of Brazil's largest private education groups and a leader in the Northeast and North Regions in number of students enrolled, informs that during June 2015, the Ministry of Education (MEC) authorized 44 new undergraduate courses in educational institutions pertaining to Grupo Ser Educacional.
Out of authorizations, 52% target Health, Engineering and Teaching Degree courses, or 10,000 new College places, of which 87% are destined to Brazil's Northeast and 13% to the North region.
According to Mr. Janyo Diniz, Grupo Ser Educacional's CEO, "these new courses mean a relevant step for our organic growth plans and evidence our commitment to education's sustainable development in Brazil's Northeast and North regions. Over the past few years, we have been driving our efforts to open health, engineering and teaching degree courses, since we believe there is a great demand in these regions. On the other hand, the technology courses aim at meeting the new trends of employability in these regions, especially in the services sector".
The Company also received 100% of course concepts (CC) equal to or higher than 3 (CC index ranges from 1 to 5), 64% of which with index 4. In health, engineering and teaching degree courses, 61% of courses reached CC equal to 4.

The new courses will be offered under Mauricio de Nassau, Joaquim Nabuco and FIT brands.
