Mistwood Golf Club's Director Of Golf Andy Mickelson Wins 2016 TaylorMade National Championship At Pebble Beach

CHICAGO, March 23, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Andy Mickelson, Director of Golf at Mistwood Golf Club in Romeoville, Illinois, added to his recent victory streak by capturing the 2016 TaylorMade National Championship at Pebble Beach Golf Links at Pebble Beach Resorts, California.  The two-day tournament was held March 9-10 at Spyglass Hill Golf Course and Pebble Beach Golf Links.

Mickelson shot a 2-under-par total of 142 and then won a three-man playoff on the first playoff hole, beating Jaysen Hansen of Beechmont Country Club in Cleveland and Shawn Warren of Falmouth Country Club in Falmouth, Maine.  Mickelson won $15,000 for the top professional score in the event, defeating 44 of the nation's top club professional golfers.

Mickelson, a club professional on Mistwood's staff, also won the 39^th National Car Rental PGA Assistant Championship in October 2015 at the PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Fla.  In that tournament he shot a 16-under-par total of 272 to defeat a field of other assistant club professionals from throughout the country.

With his victory at Pebble Beach, Mickelson received an exemption to the TaylorMade Pebble Beach Invitational in November 2016, where he will compete for a $300,000 purse against a field that includes players from the PGA Tour, the Champions Tour, the LPGA Tour and the Web.com tour.
