Mizuno Redefines the Baseball Cleat in the New Mizuno Heist IQ

Fit to Perform, the Mizuno Heist IQ Maximizes Acceleration and Speed on the Diamond as Worn by Jose Iglesias in the All Star Game

NORCROSS, Ga., July 16, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Mizuno, a global leader in baseball equipment and apparel, is changing the cleated footwear game with the introduction of the Mizuno Heist IQ (Innovative Quickness). Designed to help players perform at their best, the Mizuno Heist IQ provides the power, quickness and torsion needed to improve play in all parts of the game.

The all-new Mizuno Heist IQ's product benefits were on full display during All Star game as Mizuno brand ambassador Jose Iglesias wore a custom designed version of the new cleat. The consumer version of the Heist IQ is set to release on August 1, 2015.

The Mizuno Heist IQ is a completely new cleat in the Mizuno baseball line-up. A new anatomical last shape molds to the foot and locks in the heel to minimize power loss while maximizing acceleration. The newly designed out-sole plate features flex groove technology that improves torsion while aiding acceleration. A unique stud configuration reinforces traction when needed most. The Mizuno Heist IQ is extremely lightweight thanks to a three-layer, no-sew synthetic leather upper, a lighter out-sole plate and base mesh and ventilation windows for increased breathability.

Mizuno Brand Ambassadors Ian Desmond, shortstop for the Washington Nationals, and Andrelton Simmons, shortstop for the Atlanta Braves, were integral in the research and design of the Mizuno Heist IQ, and have put the new cleat to the test in live game action since April.
