The company spent two years focusing on what professional women demand in their footwear: shoes that are both beautiful and comfortable. Using a variety of emerging technologies, the shoes were custom crafted in Italy by the foremost experts in footwear. The result is MM Duo Craftsmanship, a first-ever combination of extreme flexibility, reliable durability, all-day comfort and head-turning design. These uniquely innovative shoes employ a combination of technologies, such as:
3D knitting to create a sock-like level of comfort.
Using sachetto, a technique traditionally used for ballet slippers, where the leather is stretched onto the last like a glove. The technique eliminates the need for glue and helps the leather flex with your foot.
Having footbeds made from super-thin memory foam which constantly recover, so they are as supportive on the 100th wear, as on the first.
"We wanted to create what women want: shoes they can comfortably dance in, backwards, in heels--as they go about accomplishing everything they need to get done in a day," said Miyako Nakamura, co-founder and Creative Director of MM.LaFleur. The shoes come in a variety of heel heights, patterns and colors ranging from kitten heels to booties and from black to vermillion.
"Since the start of the project, our goal was to create the most comfortable, feminine shoe ever," said Simone Gronchi of Simone Gronchi Studio who helped advise on the creation of the shoe line. "After many techniques and features were applied, we can now proudly say that this is the reinvention of the pump."
The shoes begin arriving in stores this week and will be available online starting today.
