Mom365 divulges most popular baby names of 2016 so far -- Baby Name Press Release
SAINT CHARLES, Mo., July 13, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Mom365 recently launched its new Baby Names website, an interactive and fun way for soon-to-be and current parents to see what monikers are trending around the U.S. for boys and girls born in 2016 and beyond. This roundup is one of the largest U.S. baby-name lists available today, derived from accumulated data from the current year and is updated every day - so it is always showing the latest trends!
Parents can sort by gender, as well as peruse the overall top 100 U.S. baby names. As it's halfway through the year, experts are starting to notice trends in baby names compared to last year. For boys, the ranking hasn't changed at all in the past 12 months, but the case isn't the same for girls. Emma and Olivia remain the most popular names for girls, although they've switched places since 2015. Meanwhile, Ava has grabbed the No. 3 spot, pushing the former name in that position – Sophia – to No. 4. As in 2015, Isabella and Mia remain in fourth and fifth places in 2016, respectively. For boys, Jacob – now sixth - and William – now tenth - have been moved down the list and replaced by Michael and Elijah in positions four and five.
Of course, that list is always subject to change, and Mom365 will have the update! Here are the top three names overall and by gender so far in 2016:
- Noah
- Olivia
- Emma
- Olivia
- Emma
- Ava
- Noah
- Liam
- Mason
