Mom's Meals expands impact in fight against nutrition insecurity

ANKENY, Iowa, Aug. 28, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- As the most comprehensive provider of food as medicine solutions nationwide, Mom's Meals® is expanding its impact beyond its core services by addressing nutrition insecurity through meaningful corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives. In the first half of 2025, the company donated more than 23,000 medically tailored meals through its Hunger Challenge initiative, distributed nearly 2,000 shelf-stable meals and contributed over $50,000 in donated ingredients to support individuals who struggle to access the right foods for their health.

Mom's Meals corporate social responsibility efforts are focused on three core areas:

Ensuring equitable access to nutrition
Mom's Meals delivers millions of medically tailored meals each year to people managing chronic conditions, recovering from illness or striving to maintain independence. In addition to its core service, the company's annual Hunger Challenge provides meals to people experiencing nutrition insecurity who don't qualify for assistance through other programs. So far in 2025, 23,663 meals have been donated through this initiative bringing the total to nearly 57,000 meals donated since its launch in 2020.

Supporting communities in need
Mom's Meals continues to provide shelf-stable meals to bridge nutrition gaps in emergencies and natural disasters. In 2025, the company has donated 1,968 shelf-stable meals, bringing the total to shelf-stable meal contribution to 133,103 since 2019.

In addition, Mom's Meals has contributed nearly $51,000 in ingredients to local food banks so far in 2025 – bringing the total donated since 2019 to over $293,000.

Engaging employees to live the mission
Rooted in a family's mission to care for loved ones, Mom's Meals has grown into a nationwide operation fueled by employees who bring the company's values to life each day, often volunteering their time or donating to the causes we support.

A few of the ways employees have given back over the years include packing 85,000 meals for the Meals from the Heartland, donating $25,000 to support American Red Cross Disaster Relief, $10,000 in donations to Above + Beyond Cancer and Can Do Cancer and $8,000 directed to youth physical and mental health organizations like Orchard Place, Girls on the Run, and For the Children.
