SARASOTA, Fla., Sept. 19, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Florida Trend has announced the results of its comprehensive, year-long research initiative, completed by its editors to look at the state's most influential business leaders. This is the first edition of the Florida 500, on the 60th anniversary of Florida Trend.
In a statement released by Florida Trend, "The 500 executives were selected based on extensive contacts in regional business circles, hundreds of interviews and months of research, culminating in a highly selective biographical guide to the people who really run Florida. A variety of sources were used to produce the lists, including input from executives of economic development organizations, professional associations and others who know their communities, industries and the state well."
MoneyShow founder and CEO Kim Githler was selected, along with a variety of statewide business leaders for the Florida 500. Driven by the need to empower individual investors, Kim Githler founded MoneyShow in 1981. Over the course of 37 years, MoneyShow has educated millions of investors, traders, and financial advisors. As founder and CEO, Ms. Githler became the driving and visionary force behind the development of the financial media company. Since its inception, MoneyShow has served to educate and empower people around the world to take control of their financial lives.
"The Florida 500 includes so many great leaders from across our state; it's humbling to be included in their company. For MoneyShow, financial education is more than just a mission – it's a passion. Our team continually strives to provide investors and traders with access to the best financial experts in the world, and I am grateful to Florida Trend for affirming that our efforts are making a difference."
Ms. Githler and The MoneyShow's 37 years of educating investors has garnered national recognition, including the honor of ringing the closing bell at the New York Stock Exchange. In 2017, Ms. Githler was named alongside Ron Paul, Charles and David Koch, Steve Forbes, and other household names in Newsmax's list of "Top 100 Most Influential Libertarians."
While the MoneyShow continues to expand its global reach, Ms. Githler has also developed major philanthropic initiatives, with a focus in the areas of foster care and parenting education, within her local community. Ms. Githler was the first woman to sit on SunTrust Bank's advisory board. She also sits in an advisory emeritus capacity for Forty Carrots, and on the board of the Sarasota YMCA, where she has served for 25 years.
