Fourth Annual Snowboard Invitational Competition Attracts 40 Top Riders to Thredbo Ski Resort in Australia

THREDBO, Australia, Sept. 3, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Snowboard season kicked off with a banger! Monster Energy congratulates its team of snowboard athletes on claiming victories in key events at the 2025 edition of Tess Coady's Bush Doof snowboard contest at legendary Thredbo Ski Resort in Australia this weekend.

In the annual grassroots snowboard contest, 25-year-old Tiarn Collins from Queenstown, New Zealand, claimed the coveted title of 2025 Doof King and $5,000 in prize money for his overall performance in the event. He was joined by 16-year-old Monster Army rider Lily Dhawomvej from Denver, Colorado, as the 2025 Doof Queen and recipient of the $5,000 check.

In the Women's Best Trick competition, 18-year-old Mia Brookes from Sandbach, United Kingdom, took the win and $2,500 with a technical move.

The 2025 Monster Energy Bush Doof contest was hosted by team rider and Olympic bronze medalist Tess Coady from Australia at her home snow resort. Now in its fourth year, the invite-only snowboard competition attracted a star-studded list of 40 world-class snowboarders for an action-packed day of competitions.

Riders brought their best tricks to the technical obstacle course designed by the Thredbo Parks team. In a jam session format, the judges awarded prize money to the competitors who performed the most advanced aerials and rail tricks.

The closely contested Women's Best Trick wrapped with UK team rider Brookes cashing the check by landing a technical switch 180 onto lipslide pretzel 270 the kink rail.

Concluding an action-packed day, the judges crowned New Zealand team rider Collins the 2025 Doof King. American team rider Dhawomvej claimed the crown of 2025 Doof Queen by stoking the crowd with moves including huge method airs over the hip and fast-footed rail tricks.  

The 2025 edition of Bush Doof presented by Monster Energy, concluded with the official awards ceremony and afterparty featuring musical artists Little Fritter and DJ Shimmy. Thanks to the Thredbo Resort crew as well as all athletes and guests for another classic event!
