FLACHAU, Austria, March 15, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- March 14, 2025 – Our new World Champions are official! Monster Energy congratulates its snowboard team riders on claiming podium finishes and Crystal Globe trophies at the FIS Snowboard Slopestyle World Cup in Flachau, Austria, on Friday.

In the final event of the 2024/25 FIS World Cup Snowboard season, 24-year-old Zoi Sadowski-Synnott from Wānaka, New Zealand, claimed the victory in Women's Snowboard Slopestyle. Sadowski-Synnott also brought home the Crystal Globe trophy as this season's slopestyle world champion and finished in third place in Overall Women's Freeski Park & Pipe rankings. Also rising to the podium, 23-year-old Annika Morgan from Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, took second place.

Crystal Globe trophies continued with 18-year-old Mia Brookes from Sandbach, United Kingdom taking the world championship title in Women's overall Snowboard Park & Pipe rankings. Men's 2024/25 snowboard season rankings concluded with 19-year-old Taiga Hasegawa from Iwakura, Japan, claiming the Crystal Globe in overall Snowboard Park & Pipe rankings.

From March 13-14, the final event of the 2024/25 FIS Snowboard World Cup season attracted nearly 100 riders to Absolut Park Flachauwinkl (AUT). Sanctioned by the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS), the event determined world champions in Slopestyle as well as overall Park & Pipe rankings.

On Friday, the Women's Snowboard Big Slopestyle final was overshadowed by adverse weather, snowfall and low visibility on the mountain. Ultimately, organizers decided to cancel the event and determine winners based on results from Thursday's qualifiers.

When all was said and done, 24-year-old Zoi Sadowski-Synnott from Wānaka, New Zealand, claimed the victory. In her highest scoring qualifiers run, Sadowski-Synnott earned 89.50 points and the win.

On the strength of her victory at Flachauwinkl, Sadowski-Synnott clinched the 2024/25 Women's Snowboard Slopestyle Crystal Globe trophy at the last second. With 312 points, she claimed the championship after earning two wins, one second-place finish, and eighth place this season. Sadowski-Synnott edged ahead of her teammate, Brookes, with 300 points in second place.

"It feels pretty good to hold one of these," said Monster Energy's Sadowski-Synnott on earning the Crystal Globe trophy. "To qualify in first and then manage to get this result and walk away with the Globe feels pretty unreal because I've never had one of these before."

Sadowski-Synnott also finished in third place in the Overall Women's Freeski Park & Pipe rankings with 436.00 points.

The Kiwi ripper was joined on the podium by 23-year-old Annika Morgan from Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, in second place. Morgan earned 85.25 points with her run for second place.

The Crystal Globe in overall 2024/25 Women's Snowboard Park & Pipe rankings went to 18-year-old Mia Brookes from Sandbach, United Kingdom. Brookes earned a whopping seven podiums from a total of eight World Cup starts across Slopestyle and Big Air for a total of 500.00 points. This marks her second Crystal Globe of the season, after taking the 2024/25 title in Women's Snowboard Big Air for the second year in a row.

"It's been such a long season–to walk away with this is really special," said Monster Energy's Brookes.

In a major upset, Men's Snowboard Slopestyle could not be contested at Flachau due to inclement weather conditions. As a result, FIS officials needed to determine Slopestyle and Overall Park & Pipe winners on the basis of four competitions instead of five.

As a result, the season concluded with 19-year-old Taiga Hasegawa from Iwakura, Japan, claiming the Crystal Globe in overall Snowboard Park & Pipe rankings with a score of 439.00 points earned in Slopestyle and Big Air contests. Previous to Flachau, the young Japanese rider had already locked in the title by building an unbeatable lead in rankings. Hasegawa also claimed the title of 2024/25 FIS World Champion in Men's Snowboard Big Air.
