Montage Hotels & Resorts Searches For Inspiring Young Humanitarians; Winners Will Be Awarded $50,000 In College Scholarships

LAGUNA BEACH, Calif., Feb. 22, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, in celebration of the 10 year anniversary of the opening of its first hotel Montage Laguna Beach, Montage Hotels & Resorts is announcing the Montage Memory Makers Contest.

The Montage Memory Makers Contest is in search of 13 – 17 year old young humanitarians to win one (1) of five (5) $10,000 college scholarships.

During the entry period from February 22 - March 29, 2013, entrants who meet the contest requirements, may visit www.montagehotels.com/memory and upload a one-hundred (100) to two-hundred (200) word essay (mandatory), or a PowerPoint or PDF file (mandatory), and a video (optional) detailing their efforts to inspire and provide service to their communities.

Ten finalists will be selected by a panel of judges made up of Montage executives and founders and CEOs of national charity organizations based on the following criteria:

• Community service
• Impact of achievement on the community and beyond
• Creativity of achievement
• Inspirational value to others

These ten finalists will be announced on a custom social voting platform at www.montagehotels.com/memory allowing fans, family and friends to vote for their favorite candidate. The national public voting will determine the final five (5) recipients of the scholarships, each who will receive a $10,000 scholarship to an accredited university. In addition to the $10,000 scholarship, these five (5) winners will receive a trip for two (2) to Montage Laguna Beach to meet with Montage Founder and CEO Alan Fuerstman. They will also be highlighted on the contest website and in Montage Magazine's fall issue as the Montage Memory Maker Ambassadors for 2013.
