More than 90 leading North American companies to present at CIBC's 16th Annual Whistler Institutional Investor Conference

VANCOUVER, Jan. 17, 2013 /CNW/ - CIBC (TSX: CM) (NYSE: CM) will host its 16th annual Whistler Institutional Investor Conference January 23 - 25, 2013.

Scheduled to present are senior executives from more than 90 prominent North American companies spanning several key industry sectors including chemicals and fertilizers, energy, mining - precious and base metals, pulp, paper and forest products, pipelines and utilities, infrastructure, industrial products, technology, transportation and renewable energy.

Presenters will engage in fireside chats to discuss their business and growth strategies, as well as share their thoughts on the future directions of their sectors through panel discussions.

Keynote luncheon speaker on Jan. 23 is Avery Shenfeld, Chief Economist and Managing Director, CIBC World Markets Inc.  Mr. Shenfeld will share his latest forecast for the Canadian and global economies and discuss the impact on today's investment environment.  The event will also feature keynote luncheon address by the Hon. Jim Prentice, Senior Executive Vice-President & Vice Chairman, CIBC on Jan. 24.  Mr. Prentice will share his perspectives on the importance of the Asian marketplace to Canada and his views on how the new foreign investment rules will affect investments by state-owned enterprises in Canada.
