Morgan Moses Foundation Kicks off 2017 Season with High Hopes and Higher Goals

RICHMOND, Va., Aug. 1, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Morgan Moses, starting right tackle for the Washington Redskins, received a $50,000 donation on behalf of his foundation at Redskins Training Camp, from Todd Hitt, Kiddar Capital CEO. Thanks to Hitt's support, Homework Help! is available starting September 1^st for the entire school year, at no cost to qualified students who need a boost in Chesterfield, Richmond, Fairfax, and Loudoun County Public Schools.

Richmond City Mayor Levar Stoney joined the event, officially proclaiming August 1st "Morgan Moses Foundation Day." Stoney addressed over 30 students, teachers and coaches from area high schools including Armstrong, Huguenot, and Nottoway High during the day at camp as he honored the Foundation's efforts to bridge educational gaps through the Morgan Moses Foundation Homework Help! Program. Students were offered to sign up on site for tutoring, which they could start at the beginning of the school year.

Moses founded the Morgan Moses Foundation and its Homework Help! Program, partnering with The Princeton Review to enable other students to maximize their academic potential. The Redskins Charitable Foundation's "Coaches in the Classroom" program has also teamed up with the Morgan Moses Foundation expand its reach throughout Virginia.

In Morgan Moses' hometown of Richmond, over 80% of the high school students graduate, but only 21% are prepared for, or able to attend college. Moses' own experience with struggling in school prompted him to launch his foundation. Despite being a stellar athlete, a 1.6 GPA kept Moses from being NCAA-eligible. Moses attended Fork Union Military Academy for a year, where he acquired better learning skills, raised his grades, and became eligible to play football at the University of Virginia.

During the day's activities, Todd Hitt also announced a challenge match donation of $50,000 to the Morgan Moses Foundation in partnership with the Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation. If the foundation raises an additional $50,000, Hitt will double his donation to $100,000.

Hitt, an All-American soccer player, starred at the University of Virginia where he played for current U.S. National Team Coach Bruce Arena. Hitt designated his donation as a fundraising call-to-action for the Morgan Moses Foundation's Homework Help! Program. The initial challenge gift from Todd Hitt's Kiddar Capital, along with Morgan Moses' personal support, will power over 1,650 hours of individualized online tutoring with subject experts and real teachers through Tutor.com.
