CINCINNATI, Oct. 5, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Morphick Cyber Security has been seeing an increase in the number of companies receiving malicious emails trying to trick them into sending fraudulent wire transfers. These emails are designed to appear as if they are coming from someone inside the company requesting a wire transfer. Instead, the emails are from someone who is attempting to defraud the recipient by tricking them into transferring funds to an account the scammer owns.
As part of its email security platform, Morphick has developed several technologies to protect their clients against these types of attacks. In response to the increased frequency of these scams, Morphick announced that it has made some of its protections available to the general public. Morphick released a free, proactive tool that can identify emails containing these scams as they enter companies' systems.
"Our clients have been using our technologies to protect themselves from these attacks," said Morphick CEO Brian Minick. "We made the decision to offer others a free way to quickly and easily detect these kinds of scams before they become a victim."
