Morrisey Associates' Morrisey Concurrent Care Manager™ Version 2 Receives Leading Certification Under Federal Program

CHICAGO, Jan. 10, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Morrisey's Morrisey Concurrent Care Manager (MCCM™) Version 2 is certified as an electronic health records (EHRs) module under a federal program. Hospitals that use the software will be one step closer to meeting "meaningful use" requirements and qualifying for Medicare and Medicaid incentive payments.

MCCM Version 2 is Office of the National Coordinator-Authorized Testing and Certification Bodies (ONC-ATCBs)-certified as an EHRs module for 2011/2012. The Certification Commission for Health Information Technology (CCHIT®) conducted the testing and certification.

"Having a Web-based care management system that is certified to achieve meaningful use for hospitals is a significant accomplishment," Morrisey CEO Jerry Zoldan says. Hospitals that demonstrate meaningful use of certified EHRs will be eligible to receive annual incentive payments from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. The incentives are mandated by the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act, which is a provision in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. The bonus pay will help offset the cost of adopting EHRs.

MCCM Version 2 meets the following certification criteria:

•          Emergency access
•          Automatic logoff
•          Audit log
•          Integrity
•          Authentication
•          General encryption
•          Encryption when exchanging electronic health information

CCHIT certified MCCM Version 2 on Dec. 8, 2011. The certification number is CC-1112-100009-1.ONC-ATCBs 2011/2012. Certification does not represent an endorsement of the certified EHRs technology by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, nor does it guarantee receipt of incentive payments.
