Morrison & Foerster's Summer Associate Program Ranked #1 by Vault

NEW YORK, July 9, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Morrison & Foerster's summer associate program is ranked best among all U.S. law firms, according to the latest annual survey from Vault.com. In Vault's rankings, MoFo is also ranked among the top five firms in preparing summer associates for full-time practice and among the top 10 firms for having the "most fun" program.  

Vault, a leading career intelligence portal that provides rankings and reviews of law firms and other professional segments, surveyed 17,000 first- through third-year associates who had been summer associates at their current firms. Associates rated their summer experience on how well it prepared them for full-time practice and also how much fun they had in the process.

Vault.com has become one of the most frequently cited career information sources for law students, associates, partners, and recruiters. Its law firm rankings, including the Vault Law 100, provide detail on the criteria most frequently considered by candidates when evaluating law firms, including work-life balance and diversity. This is the fourth year that Vault has ranked summer associate programs.

Of MoFo's summer associate program, respondents noted that MoFo "wants summers to have a good time and also to understand what it is like to work there for real." The survey further indicates that the firm "finds a good balance between getting a taste of being a young associate and getting a chance to meet and interact with attorneys in an informal, fun environment."

During MoFo's summer associate program, summer associates are assigned mentors and work closely in groups or as individuals with partners and other lawyers at the firm. Summer associates gain hands-on experience and take ownership of projects, learning what it means to practice at a major law firm.

MoFo was also recently named to The American Lawyer's A-List, a ranking of the top 20 U.S. firms in which associate satisfaction is a key criteria. This marks MoFo's 11^th consecutive year on the A-List, making it one of the few firms to be included since Am Law first established a holistic scorecard of top firms as measured by revenues per lawyer, pro bono work, diversity, and associate satisfaction.
