Mortgage Contracting Services Honors Service Members through Partnership with Carry the Load March

PLANO, Texas, June 13, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Mortgage Contracting Services (MCS), a nationwide provider of property preservation, inspections and REO property maintenance for the financial services industry, recently participated in the 20-hour Carry the Load Memorial Day March in Dallas and hosted similar events in Tampa, Fla., and Ruston, La.

Founded in 2011, Carry the Load is a non-profit organization that raises funds for organizations supporting veterans and active duty service members, law enforcement officers, firefighters and their families. The 2013 beneficiaries of the Dallas event were Assist the Officer, Heroes on the Water, Friends of Dallas Fire-Rescue, Tip Of the Spear Foundation and Sons of the Flag Burn Foundation.

The Dallas event featured a 20-hour walk that began on May 26 at Reverchon Park, near downtown. The MCS team included 68 MCS-Plano representatives.

MCS became involved with Carry the Load in 2011 after CEO Caroline Reaves met the charity's co-founders, Stephen Holley and Clint Bruce. She was so impressed that she asked if MCS could host a similar event in 2012 in Tampa, where MCS has an office. This year, MCS also hosted a Carry the Load event in Ruston, where the company recently opened a new office.

The Tampa event benefitted Friends of Military Families and Hillsborough County Firefighter Charities. The Ruston event benefitted the U.S. Army's 844th Engineer Company's Family Readiness Group.

Alan D. Gambrell, a veteran of both the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Army, says Carry the Load helps to "nudge the Memorial Day holiday" back to its original intention.
