Motorola and Imagine Bring Mobile WiMAX Small Business Solutions to Irish Market

AMSTERDAM, June 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- WIMAX FORUM GLOBAL CONGRESS -- The Networks business of Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT) today announced it has teamed with Imagine Communication Group, Ireland's major supplier of WiMAX services to consumers and businesses, to offer its USBw 200 mobile WiMAX USB adaptor as part of a new service from Imagine targeting home office and small businesses. The USBw 200 will be available in Ireland in August 2010.

Offering true plug & play operation, Motorola's USBw 200 provides super-fast mobile broadband over WiMAX with improved uplink and downlink performance. Key features such as transmit switched diversity for better uploading performance and a network entry power boost for fast network entry at longer range make the USBw 200 ideal for the small office/home office (SoHo) and small to medium enterprise (SME) markets as well as consumers who prefer mobile WiMAX over other wireless services.

WiMAX is proving to be the leading alternative access network in Ireland. This demonstrates both the evolution of the relationship and further strengthening of the business case for mobile WiMAX as a standalone technology and a complimentary service to 4G.
