LOS ANGELES, May 19, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Mucker Capital announced today that it is holding its annual MuckerCon on May 19th, an invite-only event for media and investors that will feature panel discussions with leading entrepreneurs, executives, and experts about some of the hottest topics in tech. MuckerCon will also feature presentations from early-stage startups participating in Mucker Capital's MuckerLab, the #2 pre-seed accelerator in the country.

Mucker Capital is a leading venture capital firm in the greater Los Angeles area. It invests in seed and "pre-seed" stage startups in the Internet software, services, and media sectors. The firm provides companies with their earliest institutional funding and works closely with entrepreneurs to help them launch and scale their business. Its portfolio includes notable success stories like Surf Air, The Black Tux, Victorious, Vid.me, and ServiceTitan.

At MuckerCon, these entrepreneurs will participate in panel discussions about cutting edge innovation in SaaS, FinTech, online video, and more, moderated by industry experts such as Aaron Hirschhorn, founder & CEO of DogVacay, and Mark Troughton, President of Whisper. In addition to these sessions, MuckerCon will also highlight 7 of the startups that are in the current cohort at MuckerLab. These innovative companies will showcase what they have been working on over the past year.

"LA's startup ecosystem is one of the most active in the world, and is evolving very rapidly," said Erik Rannala, cofounder and managing partner of Mucker Capital. "As an active participant in this tech community, we are excited for MuckerCon to bring together our portfolio companies with other entrepreneurs, investors and executives to discuss the state of our industry."

LA is home the fastest growing startup scene in the country. It represents America's most active tech startup ecosystem outside Silicon Valley, and according to the LA Economic Development Council, financing for LA tech companies has grown at 30 percent CAGR (which is four times greater than the U.S. average) over the past four years. Some of the tech industry's hottest companies, like Snapchat, Tinder, and Oculus, are based in LA and the area generated over $8 billion in exits in 2014. Talented entrepreneurs are flocking to LA's vibrant startup ecosystem to create and grow successful companies.

The MuckerLab accelerator connects early-stage startups with resources they need to get off the ground, scale their business, and/or hit their next milestones. It connects founders with over 200 entrepreneurs, investors, and executives who serve as mentors and advisors to the portfolio. To date, MuckerLab companies have raised over $200 million and 100 percent of the companies that have participated in the program have raised outside funding.
