Mudderella Announces Nationwide Dates For 2014
Obstacle Course to Challenge Participants to "Own Your Strong" With Six New Events
BROOKLYN, N.Y., Jan. 29, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Following an overwhelmingly positive debut in 2013, Mudderella, the company curating outdoor obstacle courses for women by women, announced today its 2014 U.S. events calendar. Encouraging women to "Own Your Strong," Mudderella inspires participants to test stamina, willpower and strength by completing a 5-7 mile long course featuring 12-15 obstacles.
In 2014, Mudderella builds on the excitement from the inaugural Poconos event, in which thousands of participants tackled obstacles testing balance, agility, and strength, with six brand new events in cities across the country. Mudderella events encourage participants to take on a new challenge and get outside for a high-energy, daylong experience to be shared with like-minded, strong women. Registration is now open for the following five 2014 Mudderella events, with a sixth event coming soon:
- New York / New Jersey: May 10, 2014
- Chicago: May 31, 2014
- Boston: September 6, 2014
- Virginia: September 20, 2014
- SoCal: October 4, 2014
To reinforce participants' focus on personal aspirations and fitness, Mudderella events are not timed. Teamwork is essential to completing the course; the events are about people coming together to overcome obstacles and have fun. Men are encouraged to the join teams in support of their wives, daughters, sisters, mothers, friends, and coworkers, or to come out as spectators.
"Mudderella is about empowering women to take pride in their strength – inside and out. We are thrilled to be continuing the mission of Mudderella and expanding our footprint for 2014 to give more women the chance to participate and 'Own Your Strong,'" said Cristina DeVito, Chief Executive Officer of Mudderella. "We want our Mudderellas to remember that they are stronger than they think, through an awesome experience and day."
Mudderella is honored to support Futures Without Violence, a national nonprofit that aims to prevent and end domestic violence by standing with survivors and developing innovative programs and policies that engage new allies as partners in the solution. By raising awareness and support for this organization, Mudderella strives to do its part and contribute to a future free of violence.
The day begins with Stretch + Strengthen, getting participants pumped up with a warm-up. Upon crossing the finish line, participants receive a Mudderella sport band, a protein bar, and an icy Strongbow Hard Cider to celebrate with friends. Teams can then freshen up and relax at the popular Rinse + Revive station, which features showers, food, music and entertainment.
Mudderella obstacles are designed to encourage fitness, drive empowerment, and spark teamwork. Obstacles include participant favorites from last year such as Hat Trick, in which you jump off a trampoline, crawl up a cargo net, and slide into water. Another obstacle, Wheels in Motion, sends you across swinging tires, designed to test agility and core strength. Mudderella is also excited to introduce new obstacles to challenge both new and returning Mudderellas.
