Muslim Group To Offer Reflections On Carson Controversy At LA Eid Prayer
City to also Announce a Resolution in Support of American Muslims
LOS ANGELES, Sept. 23, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- On Thursday, September 24, 2015, Salam Al-Marayati, President of the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC), will offer the main sermon for local area Muslims at the Los Angeles Convention Center to mark the observance of their religious holiday, Eid ul-Adha.
The sermon, which will reflect on the recent controversy surrounding presidential candidate Ben Carson's comments about Muslims and whether they should serve as president, will focus on what American Muslims need to do moving forward.
A representative from the City's office will also be in attendance to read a new resolution in support of Muslims and their role and status in American society.
