My Virtual Neighbor is growing local economies & revitalizing neighborhoods
HOUSTON, Aug. 1, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- My Virtual Neighbor recently launched new user features, making it easier than ever to connect with your community & local businesses near you.
One new feature allows neighbors to support local businesses with their dollars, attention, and referrals. Neighbors can find nearby post offices, banks, restaurants and other local businesses quickly and easily. Neighbors may also read and comment on existing reviews or add new reviews or businesses.
A second feature allows users to sample opinions from other neighbors on any topic of interest. For example, if a user feels there should be more traffic lights and stop signs in the neighborhood, the user can create a poll to evaluate how others feel about the issue. Neighbors may then vote and comment on the polls and the results can be mailed to city officials, HOA, civic associations, local businesses and other institutions.
The third new feature allows neighbors to follow each other based on their community goals. For example, if neighbors share a common goal to deter neighborhood crime, the system will indicate this in the "Follow Neighbors" section. Users may then connect and share insight on the common goal.
"We are committed every day to finding ways you can derive value from your local community like never before. These new features not only add more interaction with neighbors, but allow users to connect with those with similar concerns and interest. This will provide the foundation needed to take action and build people friendly communities." -Founder Amit Mehta
