NAPA Ranked Among (201) Family Top Doctors in New Jersey for Fourth Consecutive Year
MELVILLE, N.Y., Jan. 10, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- North American Partners in Anesthesia (NAPA) announced today that two of its leading anesthesiologists, Stephen Winikoff, MD, and Kar-Mei Chan, MD, were selected as (201) Family Top Doctors in the anesthesiology category for 2016 – the fourth consecutive year they have received this recognition. (201) Family, a New Jersey Greater Media magazine, featured Top Doctors in its special double issue (November/December, 2016). Physicians are nominated by their peers and are evaluated on several criteria, including professional achievement, peer recognition and disciplinary history.
Among their recognized achievements, Dr. Winikoff and Dr. Chan played an active role as members of a team of 13 doctors and nurses who performed New Jersey's first separation of conjoined twins in 2000. In addition to their contributions to communities within New Jersey, Dr. Winikoff and Dr. Chan also partner with charitable organizations including Healing the Children and Gift of Life to bring health care to people in underserved areas abroad.

Stephen P. Winikoff, MD, serves as Chief of Anesthesia at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Paterson, NJ. He also holds the appointment of Associate Clinical Professor of Anesthesia at Touro-New York Medical School in Westchester, NY, and serves as the Treasurer of the New Jersey State Society of Anesthesiologists' Executive Committee. Dr. Winikoff is a Diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology as well as the American Board of Pediatrics.
Kar-Mei Chan, MD, serves as the Chief of Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesia at St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center in Paterson, NJ. Dr. Chan also holds the appointment of Assistant Clinical Professor of Anesthesia at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, NY. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology and the National Board of Medical Examiners.
