NEW YORK, Sept. 22, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Napoli Shkolnik, a nationally renowned law firm representing individuals and communities in complex litigation, has expanded its team with the addition of former federal prosecutors Sean P. Murphy and Jorge L. Matos. Both attorneys previously served as senior trial lawyers in the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Puerto Rico, bringing extensive government trial experience to the firm's environmental and complex commercial litigation practices.
"Sean and Jorge further solidify the exceptional talent bench we've built at Napoli Shkolnik," said Paul Napoli, founding partner at Napoli Shkolnik. Their backgrounds in high-stakes investigations, money laundering and transnational drug trafficking cases give them a rare perspective that complements and elevates our litigation strategy."
Sean P. Murphy, Senior Attorney
Murphy brings over a decade of experience as a litigating attorney with a background as a federal prosecutor. Prior to entering private practice, Murphy was selected from a nationwide pool of Assistant U.S. Attorneys to lead the Department of Justice's response to a high-profile criminal event, which became one of the largest investigations in the department's history. During his tenure with the U.S. Attorney's office in Puerto Rico, Murphy investigated and prosecuted complex transnational drug and money laundering operations. Murphy also served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Bronx, where he prosecuted violent crime, drug trafficking and firearms offenses.
Jorge L. Matos, Senior Associate
Matos brings extensive experience with a career spanning both military and civilian practice. As a federal prosecutor, Matos served as lead attorney in significant cases, including U.S. v. Arthur Rodriguez-Sanchez, involving a seven-count indictment charging 24 individuals with international drug trafficking and money laundering offenses, and U.S. v. Juan Ortiz-Vasquez, charging 34 individuals with conspiracy to distribute controlled substances within the Puerto Rico Correctional System.
