Convention Center Hotel Takes Pivotal Step

IRVING, Texas, Oct. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and Omni Hotels & Resorts reached a definitive development agreement to build the new convention center hotel in downtown Nashville yesterday through a unanimous vote by the 40-member Metro Council.  The Omni Nashville Hotel will sit across from the new, state-of-the-art 1.2 million square foot Music City Center currently under construction and scheduled for completion in 2013. The new multi-story hotel, which will feature approximately 800 guest rooms and suites and more than 80,000 square feet of meeting and event space, is estimated to open later in 2013.

The spirit of Nashville will be showcased throughout the Omni Nashville Hotel's design and decor, culinary, lifestyle and retail venues.  Additionally, the property will boast a pool, state-of-the-art fitness center and a Mokara signature spa.  Nashville's cultural aspects will be implemented throughout the hotel to appeal to meeting and event attendees, vacationers and locals.

About the Music City Center
