Nashville's Davishire Interiors to sell antiques and fine furnishings at auction to reduce inventory

NASHVILLE, Tenn., Aug. 7, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- When Shirley Horowitz decided to reduce the size of her retail showroom, she faced a major challenge: How to best reduce her large inventory of upscale furniture, works of art, rugs and other items. So she turned to longtime friend Will McLemore for help in selling the items at auction.

As a result, she is selling a large collection of fine home furnishings in an online auction ending Sept. 12, with no minimum bids or reserves, with McLemore Auction Company managing the sale.

"I really wanted to expedite this so that I could concentrate on the grand opening of our new showroom and prepare the first floor showroom and offices for a new tenant. This will give many people an opportunity to purchase some very unique pieces at affordable prices," said Horowitz.

Horowitz said the auction is a matter of realigning her business to current buying habits for those furnishing homes.

"The size of the former showroom just doesn't match the realities of the Nashville marketplace the way it exists today. We will still carry a good inventory of fine furnishings, but it will be more selective, which is consistent with the needs of our business and clientele," said Horowitz, who will rent out the downstairs showroom space.

McLemore said the inventory is ideally suited to the auction format. We will be on the premises to answer questions about the items and the bidding process," said McLemore.
