The award, which honors organizations that show leadership in the procurement of sustainable IT products, demonstrates NASPO ValuePoint's commitment to maximizing resources effectively and efficiently.
Over their lifetime, the 823,783 EPEAT™-registered IT products purchased through NASPO ValuePoint in 2017 will result in major environmental impact reductions. Furthermore, EPEAT™'s requirement that registered products meet, and often exceed, the latest ENERGY STAR specifications means these products will consume less energy throughout their useful life.
Betsy Hayes, the Department of Administration State of Minnesota, State Chief Procurement Officer, and NASPO ValuePoint Board Member, stated, "This EPEAT™ award embodies one of the many reasons I am proud to be a part of the NASPO ValuePoint community. It demonstrates the profound impact we make through our collective efforts to procure sustainable products that truly reflect best value for our organizations."
This award is just one of the many ways that we continue to demonstrate our leadership in sustainable procurement, as we are the only cooperative purchasing program to have received the award. We look forward to our continued procurement of sustainable IT products that offer both best value and environmental friendliness.
