SKOKIE, Ill., Dec. 4, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Natalie Schleifer, President and Director of the Jack P. Schleifer Foundation, who is fully underwriting the 2015 Chanukah concert to benefit Camp Moshava in Wildrose, WI, would like to note that all additional ticket sales and sponsorships will now go directly to benefit the Rabbi Moshe Kushner Scholarship Fund and Camp Moshava.
The concert will be headlined by the world-renowned Ohad, and will feature the inspirational songs of Yehuda Green on Sunday, December 6, 2015 from 3:00-5:00 pm (CST) at the North Shore Center for Performing Arts, 9501 Skokie Blvd., Skokie, IL 60077. Tickets are available by calling (847) 674-9733 ext. 7. Because of Ms. Schleifer's generosity, the Camp has stated that all sponsorships and ticket sales will go directly to Camp Moshava and the Rabbi Moshe Kushner Scholarship Fund.
Ms. Schleifer was inspired to become the concert underwriter in honor of the fifteenth anniversary of her father's creation of the Foundation. She said, "My father's dream was for all Jewish families to send their children to Jewish summer camps, regardless of their economic resources. My father emigrated from Poland to the United States at the age of eight, and he remained separated from his mother for the first six years of his life as a new immigrant. Despite much hardship, he benefitted from the opportunity to work summers in Jewish summer camps in the Catskills, busing and waiting tables. The money he earned during those summers helped to put him through college. Because of my father's success later in his life, while I was growing up, I was able to spend summers at Jewish camps as a camper and a counselor—and all my children and grandchildren, too, vacationed at Jewish summer camps."
Ms. Schleifer commented further, "My father loved, contributed to, believed in and supported the State of Israel. Coincidentally, my father was a cousin of David Ben Gurion, Israel's first Prime Minister. My parents, Jack and Geraldine, and I, delighted in staying as guests of the then-retired first Prime Minister of Israel and his family at the Sde Boker Kibbutz. I'm so excited to underwrite this Camp Moshava concert, because it resonates with the Zionist ruach my father passed on to me and my children: l'dor va dor. I hope the Foundation continues the mission, long after I do."
