
National Association of Professional Background Screeners Announces 2010 Background Screening Credentialing Council
MORRISVILLE, N.C., May 10 /PRNewswire/ -- The National Association of Professional Background Screeners (NAPBS®) announced today the names of the 2010 Background Screening Credentialing Council (BSCC) and its elected officers. Members of the BSCC include:

Officers are Catherine Aldrich, chairperson; Kevin Klimas, chairperson-elect; and Jason Morris, treasurer.
"NAPBS created the BSCC in 2009 to make certain that firms seeking accreditation meet or exceed a measurable standard of competence in the areas of integrity, security, consumer privacy and legal compliance," said Tracy Seabrook, CAE, executive director of NAPBS. "We're excited to have the new Council in place to continue advancing our association's goals to promote, develop, educate and further the professional background screening industry."
Members of the BSCC manage the business and affairs of NAPBS' Background Screening Agency Accreditation Program (BSAAP), which advances professionalism in the employment screening industry through the promotion of best practices, awareness of legal compliance and development of standards that protect consumers. The BSCC reports on all credentialing activities, proposes changes in the standards that reflect best practices in consumer reporting, reviews challenges of non-compliance with standards for accredited Consumer Reporting Agencies and recommends appropriate responses, which may include probationary periods and/or sanctions.
