
Nationally Recognized Ballot Measure and Nonprofit Lawyer Joins The Political Law Group as a Partner in Washington, D.C.
WASHINGTON, Sept. 3, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The Political Law Group (TPLG) today announced that Emma Olson Sharkey has joined the firm as a partner in its Washington, D.C. office, strengthening and expanding the firm's national ballot measure and nonprofit practices.
Olson Sharkey is a nationally recognized ballot measure and nonprofit tax lawyer who advises ballot measure campaigns, nonprofit organizations, political committees, and other advocacy organizations on the campaign finance, tax, and election laws governing political and issue advocacy across the country.
She has served as outside counsel to ballot measure efforts in more than 15 states, advising clients throughout the initiative process, from campaign formation and qualification through Election Day and post-election proceedings.
Olson Sharkey's practice also includes advising nonprofit organizations and political committees on the design and implementation of political and issue advocacy programs under federal tax law and state and federal campaign finance laws.
Olson Sharkey joins The Political Law Group from Elias Law Group, where she was a partner and advised many of the country's leading nonprofit organizations, campaigns, and political committees on political law matters.
