Natural Grocers Celebrates 61st Anniversary with a Hula Hoop Record Attempt and 1950's Style Ice Cream Social

LAKEWOOD, Colo., July 27, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- In celebration of the company's 61^st anniversary, Natural Grocers will attempt to beat the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title for the most people hula hooping at multiple venues simultaneously. The world record attempt will take place on August 11 at all Natural Grocers' 122 stores and will be streamed live on Facebook.

The world record hula hooping attempt will be accompanied by a free 1950's style ice cream social featuring dairy and non-dairy sundaes and root beer floats from 4 to 6 p.m.

Natural Grocers will attempt to beat the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title for the most people hula hooping at multiple venues simultaneously.

GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS Hula Hoop Attempt

To beat the world record, Natural Grocers will need to achieve an average of 40 people hula hooping simultaneously at each of its stores. Hula hoops will be provided by the stores, although community members are encouraged to bring their own to increase the number of hula hoops available and in motion.

The hula hoop event will take place at 4:45 p.m. Mountain Time (3:45 p.m. Pacific, 5:45 p.m. Central). Participants are encouraged to wear 1950's style costumes to fit the anniversary theme and celebrate the era when Natural Grocers was founded.
