NBTY Garners Healthcare Hero Award

RONKONKOMA, N.Y., Nov. 13, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- NBTY, Inc., and its subsidiaries (collectively "NBTY"), a leading global manufacturer and distributor of high-quality vitamins and nutritional supplements, has been awarded the Healthy and Fit Workplace Award in honor of the array of wellness initiatives it has in place for its Associates. The company was formally recognized at a ceremony on November 7.

The Healthy and Fit Workplace Award is given to a Long Island-based organization "for its ongoing commitment and dedication to promoting a healthy workplace, and encouraging employees and families to pursue wellness and maintain healthy lifestyles, and by offering opportunities such as physical activity and/or challenges, nutrition counseling, smoking cessation help, preventive care education, stress management and volunteerism."
