NEWARK, Calif., July 31, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Neato Robotics, a leader in smart robots for the home, today announces the availability of Neato Multiple Floor Plan Mapping and Quick Boost Charging on the Neato Botvac D7 Connected.
At Neato, we know that our consumers have cleaning needs that go beyond a single level in their home. With the launch of multiple floor plan mapping1, users can now use the Neato app to create a new floor plan2 on their second, or even third floor of their home. Once created, 'No-Go' Lines can be added to tell the robot which places to avoid cleaning floor by floor. For added convenience, Neato is now offering the charge base3 as a stand-alone accessory, so consumers can easily charge and initiate cleaning on any floor. This new software update enables the creation of multiple floor plans, offering consumers more freedom and flexibility to create a more personal cleaning plan for their home. Neato is taking personalized cleaning to the next level and uniquely supporting 'No-Go' Lines for multiple floors.
With the ability to clean different floors across the home also comes the possibility that the robot may need to recharge to finish the job and to reduce overall cleaning time. Neato is introducing Neato Quick Boost charging to allow the Neato Botvac D7 Connected to calculate how much power it needs to finish its cleaning run and top up accordingly. Your robot will return to its base automatically, get a quick boost, and resume cleaning the rest of your floorplan, meaning your robot is working smarter and your floors get cleaned faster.
Neato CEO Matt Petersen, comments, "This software upgrade marks a significant step forward at Neato in our commitment to personalized cleaning. With Multiple Floor Mapping and Neato Quick Boost we saw an opportunity to respond to a consumer need quickly, whilst making the robot smarter with these significant software updates. At Neato, we know that some of our consumers have large homes to clean, and more than one floor. They need to be able to have the freedom to create a more personal cleaning experience, and to have a product which has the charge and ability to clean the whole home automatically."
These new features will be part of the robot software update 4.2.0 and Neato app version 2.6.0; current users of the Botvac D7 Connected robot vacuums will receive a notification on their Neato app to download and install the latest software.
The Neato Botvac D7 Connected cleans large spaces efficiently and dependably, picking up dirt, hair, and allergens for the deepest clean you can get. It features Neato FloorPlanner™, virtual 'No-Go' Lines and Neato's patented LaserSmart™ technology. With robust suction, an ultra-performance filter, turbo mode and improved brush system, the Botvac D7 Connected provides the most advanced cleaning power. Its unique D-shape design gets into corners better than those round robots. The Neato app for iOS and Android offers a cleaning summary with detailed Coverage maps, so users can see exactly where the robot vacuum has cleaned. With Neato's SmartLife™ integration, the Botvac D7 Connected can also be controlled with voice assistants including Amazon Alexa and Google Home. Wider integration and control is also possible through IFTTT, Neato Chatbot for Facebook.
