In his new position, Hipes will be responsible for the development of an integrated approach to utilizing diverse hardware and software products to effectively address OEM needs. Specifically, he will continue to define and develop the company's virtualization, cloud computing, and physical compute technologies and create application deployment models that meet customer requirements.
Prior to his appointment as vice president, Hipes was director of technology at NEI, where he managed field applications engineers (FAEs) by supporting sales design activities and educating customers on hardware and other deployment trends. With NEI since 2003, he has primarily focused on designing systems for network equipment providers that require carrier-grade solutions, and in his new position will continue to manage skills training for FAEs and act as technical interface for NEI's technology partners. Previously, he was director of technology at Alliance Systems and field applications engineer for Arrow Electronics and Wyle Electronics.
