TORONTO, Dec. 11, 2018 /PRNewswire/ - NELSON, Canada's leading educational publisher, announced this morning that it will be partnering with Marshall Cavendish Education (MCE) to develop a new Canadian math program, My Math Path.
My Math Path will integrate MCE's world-renowned Singapore Math® pedagogy, which emphasizes teaching students to think critically and persevere when solving problems with applications to real-life situations. "Building math content mastery is foundational to each student's learning journey," said Steve Brown, NELSON President and CEO, "as strengthening these computational skills in their formative years will prepare them for continued success in post-secondary education and broaden future career pathways."
Program content will be 100% aligned to Canadian curriculum and developed using the Concrete Pictorial-Abstract Approach, which allows students to master math concepts, develop critical thinking, and strengthen problem-solving skills. The program will include a robust offering of Student and Teacher Resources, including an online centre, virtual manipulatives, and games that provide hands-on experiences, fostering positive attitudes towards math.
