NetMotion Wireless Teams With RSA and FBI to Assist With New Criminal Justice Information Services Policy (CJIS)

SEATTLE, Jan. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- NetMotion Wireless, a leading provider of mobile productivity and management software, announces a webinar specifically for the law enforcement community, focused on Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) access requirements. Jointly sponsored by NetMotion Wireless and RSA, and presented in conjunction with the State of Kansas Highway Patrol and the FBI, the webinar will explain new strong authentication requirements for access to the CJIS system, and share experiences and practical methods for meeting them.

The CJIS System, operated by the FBI, is used by law enforcement agencies nationwide, to provide access to fingerprints, criminal histories and other information. The CJIS Security Policy specifies secure methods for system access in order to protect citizens' private information. A revised policy issued in December 2008 called for new strong authentication measures. All connecting law enforcement agencies must comply by 2013, although CJIS recommends agencies not delay putting measures in place to meet the requirements as soon as possible.
