PIICRYPT works by giving apps and websites the ability to store each users 'personally identifiable information' (PII) in an encrypted 'vault' that exists within Amazon's highly secure S3 cloud.  Each user vault is secured with its own unique AES 256 bit 'key', which is saved only on the user's device.  This individual encryption feature makes PIICRYPTed data difficult and impractical to exploit because the keys to the data are located in millions of individual users devices, and without the keys, cracking millions of 256 bit encrypted vaults with brute force computer attacks is out of the question.
