New Blendtec Blender Jar Makes Smoothies in Seconds

CHICAGO, March 13, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- High-speed blender manufacturer Blendtec today announced a dramatic improvement to its patented five-sided WildSide™ blending jar that produces a fully blended smoothie from frozen fruit and ice in as little as 14 seconds—faster than any other solution.  Effective immediately, the new WildSide+ jar will be included in all new Blendtec residential and commercial blenders at no additional charge. A Vitamix-compatible jar, the WildSide+ Rebel, is also available for purchase for Vitamix blenders and provides a safe replacement for the 170,000 Vitamix jars recalled recently due to blades breaking during use.

Speedier Smoothies & More

The blending efficiency of the new WildSide+ jar is the result of a new design developed by Blendtec's in-house physicists, mechanical engineers and manufacturing engineers to produce the smoothest blend in the shortest time for both home and commercial chefs. Two debossed vertical ridges added to the jar interior allow ingredients to hit two additional surfaces, accelerating the blending process. This design has increased blending efficiency for frozen ingredients by up to 25%.  

Vitamix Replacement Jar

The WildSide+ Rebel jar provides the same features as the WildSide+ for Vitamix owners and additionally protects users from three safety hazards commonly associated with Vitamix blenders: breaking blades, breaking drive sockets and plastic tampers.  Blendtec blades are up to 80% thicker and 10 times stronger than competitors' blades; blunt rather than sharp for safe use and cleaning; and made of cold-forged stainless steel so they don't break when blending hard foods. The strength of the blade is shown in the company's 'Will It Blend?' videos, where Blendtec blenders safely pulverize everything from smartphones to golf balls.
