New Data from National Sleep Foundation Reveals Strong Connection Between Sleep Health and Flourishing in Life

New Findings Highlight the Importance of Healthy Sleep for Well-Being

WASHINGTON, March 6, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- As part of its ongoing commitment to advancing sleep health and to launch Sleep Awareness Week^® 2025 (March 9-15), the National Sleep Foundation (NSF) has released new data from its 2025 Sleep in America^® Poll demonstrating the powerful link between sleep health and an individual's ability to flourish in life. Flourishing encompasses happiness, productivity at home and work, goal achievement, and fulfilling social relationships—key indicators of well-being.

New findings from the Sleep in America Poll include:

• Sleep Satisfaction and Flourishing: Nearly 9 in 10 adults (88%) who report good sleep satisfaction are flourishing, while less than half (47%) of those with poor sleep satisfaction experience the same level of well-being.
• Sleep Duration Matters: People who get the NSF's recommended 7-9 hours of sleep per night are significantly more likely to flourish. Over 7 in 10 adults report that they thrive when they have enough quality sleep.
• Consequences of Poor Sleep: Individuals with poor sleep health are
• 4 times more likely not to be happy
• 2.5 times more likely not to be productive at work
• 3 times more likely not to achieve their goals
• 2 times more likely not to be productive at home
• 2 times more likely not to have a fulfilling social life
