New Database Puts US Volunteers in Touch With Tanzanian Charities

WASHINGTON, April 18, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Bricks + Books Foundation, a youth-led 501(c)3 organization, has announced the release of a new web-based tool that helps connect prospective volunteers with charities and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) throughout the East African nation of Tanzania.

The Path Less Traveled database (www.bricksandbooks.org/path) allows potential volunteers to identify projects they might like to volunteer for by category, general area or by NGO name. Once the volunteer has entered the information, the database will present them with a list of projects which match their criteria. Selecting a project will give the volunteer a detailed overview, contact information and profile of the NGO, which they can print and keep for future reference.

Each of the 45+ organizations currently listed in the Path Less Traveled database has already been visited and verified by a member of the Bricks + Books Foundation. It is a perfect tool for those adventurers seeking an authentic experience while volunteering their help in Tanzania and avoiding the exorbitant fees associated with some volunteer companies.
