BUFFALO, N.Y., April 2, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- New Era, the international sports and lifestyle brand and Official Sideline Cap of the National Football League (NFL), designed its 2026 NFL Draft Collection to elevate the "moment in the mirror" – a signature of the NFL Draft experience when an athlete sees themselves in their new team's gear for the first time ever. It serves as the symbolic opening credits for the NFL careers of the top draft picks, a close-up when first impressions start to become lasting bonds with fans in their new hometown.
New Era has captured this moment and milestone with a collection of caps that players can wear with pride. Each cap in New Era's 2026 NFL Draft Collection features a reflective liquid chrome treatment outlining the team logo, the team name on the rear snap enclosure, and the New Era Flag logo, along with custom design elements that pay tribute to each NFL franchise.
After players' names are called, they'll be presented with their team's New Era 9FIFTY® cap right before they cross the stage in Pittsburgh, marking their entrance into the bright lights of the NFL.
"The NFL Draft is a career-defining moment, and it starts with this unique moment in the mirror, those few seconds—both fleeting yet unfading—when each athlete receives their new team's cap and adjusts the fit in their mirrored reflection. It's a tradition that has become synonymous with New Era's proud role in crowning the achievements of every player's journey," said Tim Shanahan, Senior Director of Licensed Products at New Era. "With chrome treatments and localized design features, New Era crafted this collection to celebrate the weight of this moment and to encourage the players to pause, reflect on how far they've come, and see the legacy they're building."
New Era tapped its most iconic silhouettes for the 2026 NFL Draft Collection. In addition to the 9FIFTY® cap the athletes will wear at the NFL Draft, the collection also includes the 59FIFTY®, 9SEVENTY® Stretch-Snap, 39THIRTY® M-Crown, 9FORTY® M-Crown, and the Casual Classic.
Fans can choose between caps made in the team's distinct colorways or a black-and-white style. On the front of the crown, each team's logo is accented with reflective liquid chrome piping. The caps are complete with a reflective silver New Era flag on the side, the NFL Shield on the back, and a special 2026 NFL Draft pin. Fans can also opt for the NFL Shield cap, featuring the NFL Shield on the front for a standalone, league-focused look.
To further personalize each cap, New Era added a custom graphic inside the front crown inspired by each team's story or city, paired with a personal phrase meaningful to the team's fans.
For example, New Era's NFL Draft cap for the reigning Super Bowl Champions, the Seattle Seahawks, celebrates the team's mascot, Taima the Hawk, featuring her sprawling wings. Inside the cap is the phrase "12 As One," a reference to Seattle's passionate fan base and the team's deep connection with the diehard fans they view as their 12th player.
