SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 15, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Tech Marketing 360, produced by UBM Tech, today adds David Pogue, the new face of Yahoo Tech, as a headlining keynote to the big tech marketing gathering. The only event dedicated to educating and inspiring the tech marketing community with a 360-degree view of the disrupted world of technology marketing, Tech Marketing 360 will take place February 18-20 at The Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel in Dana Point, CA. For more information visit techmarketing360.com/.
As head of Yahoo's new tech strategy, Pogue will bring expert objective context to the discussion around traditional versus digital marketing techniques, and the ever-changing perceptions of the B2C and B2B technology industries as a whole. As he observed in a recent article for Scientific American: "Technology used to be admired in America...We were proud of our technological prowess and of the companies that were at the forefront," he wrote. "Today it's not so simple. Our tech companies have a trust problem."
The former New York Times personal tech columnist of 13 years, monthly Scientific American columnist and host of science shows on PBS made headlines with his significant career shift. At CES last week, Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer announced Pogue's appointment to Yahoo Tech Columnist, a position in which he'll lead the new tech venture he describes as "the tech site for people who don't use words like form factor and functionality in everyday conversation."
Previously announced top technology marketers will also take the keynote stage:
- Stacy Martinet, Chief Marketing Officer, Mashable
- Brad Brooks, Chief Marketing Officer, Juniper Networks
- Alison McConnell, EVP, Chief Growth Officer, Leo Burnett Worldwide
- David Sable, Global Chief Executive Officer, Young & Rubicam
"Marketers across all industries are placing more emphasis on the importance of relevant and valuable content beyond traditional promotional messages—and the tech business is excelling," said Tech Marketing 360 General Manager Gayle Wolski. "Tech Marketing 360's keynote and conference programming will present some of the most talented content marketers, storytellers and advocates for social strategies, known for their ability to connect with the tech consumer."
To recognize the recent accomplishments of highly-creative marketing teams, Tech Marketing 360 will present the Tech Marketing Campaign of the Year award. Organizations are invited to submit a summary of and material from their most creative and successful marketing campaign of 2013 for consideration. The submission form is available for organizations to enter campaign materials and success metrics through January 31. General Manager Gayle Wolski and the event advisory board members will evaluate submissions and announce finalists on Wednesday, February 12.
The winner will be announced from the keynote stage on Thursday, February 20 and awarded a customized Tech Marketing 360 surfboard, with proceeds donated to event beneficiary, Surfers Healing. Based locally in San Juan Capistrano, CA, Surfers Healing aims to enhance the lives of children with special needs through surfing lessons. Donations can be made via their website.
Tech Marketing 360 features a multi-day educational conference for senior-level marketers across all technology verticals to share best practices in an intimate venue. Event sponsors will showcase some of the most advanced tools for marketing professionals. Top sponsors include Dun & Bradstreet, Marketo, Neustar and Oracle | Eloqua.
