New Headmaster Brings Academic Leadership, Seasoned Perspective to The MacDuffie School

GRANBY, Mass., Feb. 8, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The MacDuffie School, a 120-year-old boarding and day school nestled in the heart of western Massachusetts, has announced that Brian Chatterley will assume the reigns as headmaster beginning with the class of 2012.  With more than 14 years of educational leadership experience, Chatterley is well equipped to guide the historic institution into its next phase of academic growth and student excellence.

As a former Assistant Head of School with a Masters degree in Business Administration as well as a Juris Doctor, Chatterley brings unusual perspective and experience to the role of Headmaster.

"My experience in overcoming the challenges many schools face will be utilized here as we essentially rebuild The MacDuffie School at a fresh location with a new student class," said Chatterley. "I plan to draw on my collective experience to enhance the long traditions of academic excellence at The MacDuffie School and create a thriving student-faculty community. Chatterley is the past President and long time board member of the Small Boarding School Association (SBSA). He frequently speaks at national conferences, including SBSA, International Educational Consultants Association (IECA) and The Association of Boarding Schools (TABS).
