LOS ANGELES, March 4, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- The latest IMAX documentary from IMAX Entertainment, Cosmic Picture and presenting sponsor Mars Petcare, Superpower Dogs will open in IMAX® 3D at the California Science Center on March 16, 2019. From the filmmakers behind the acclaimed documentaries Jerusalem and Journey to Mecca, Superpower Dogs offers a first-time ever window into the life-saving superpowers and extraordinary bravery of some of the world's most amazing dogs. The film is narrated by Chris Evans (Captain America: The First Avenger, Gifted).
Superpower Dogs follows six real-life working dogs from around the world, along with their human partners, as they brave earthquakes and avalanches, protect endangered species such as rhinos and elephants and transform the lives of people with special needs. The film showcases, through heart-pounding original footage, the incredible abilities of dogs, and how they use their cognitive, sensory, and intuitive capabilities to save lives.
Superpower Dogs opens at the California Science Center as the perfect companion for the brand-new exhibition Dogs! A Science Tail, also premiering on March 16, 2019. This hands-on exhibit highlights the dynamic nature of the bond between humans and dogs, and enables guests to experience the extraordinary way that dogs see, hear, and smell the world. As a special daily feature, there will be live demonstrations of dogs in various roles, showing agility, sensory and service skills. Discounted combo tickets for both the exhibition and film will be available.
"We are pleased to be able to offer our guests the opportunity to explore the unique relationship between dogs and humans, one of the most successful interspecies partnerships of all time, through this ideal pairing of Superpower Dogs and Dogs! A Science Tail," said California Science Center President, Jeff Rudolph.
Film audiences will discover the amazing abilities of different breeds and the astonishing science behind their superpowers. We'll never look at our best friends the same way again! The stars of Superpower Dogs include:
- 'Halo', a rookie puppy training to join one of the most elite disaster response teams in America;
