- CEM4Mobile Metrics Shows That the Game has Changed for Mobile Services
CEM4Mobile Solutions Ltd (ex QAim), a Finnish company that specialises in measuring and analysing interactions and customer experience in mobile services, has today announced significant new findings based on data drawn from its CEM4Mobile Metrics solution. The statistics highlight that the rules of the game have changed.
CEM4Mobile analysed the market trends behind the phenomenal growth of mobile services and found that touch screen devices were increasingly driving the use of mobile services. The report clearly shows that for mobile network operators and content providers, device penetration needs to be a key consideration in the design of mobile services.
The surveyed sample was taken from real daily traffic in browsing based mobile services in Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark from 5 July 2010 and 28 February 2011. The survey sample comprised 60,041,609 pageloads which were originated from 1,873 different handset models.
Market shares in July 2010
The starting point for the research was data drawn from CEM4Mobile Metrics in July 2010. What these figures show is the vast array of different handsets that were being used to access mobile services, the most frequently used models and their market shares.

A rapidly evolving market that demands up to date analytics
The mobile services market has witnessed phenomenal growth and is poised to grow by triple digit numbers every year over the next five years. Mobile devices, networks, content technologies and use-cases for services are evolving faster than ever before. In order to design effective and user friendly services, operators and content providers need access to accurate, detailed information on user behaviour.
"The trend is clear. Touch screens have completely changed the way people look at mobile phones and what they expect from them. Touch screens, Wi-Fi and connected services have already changed the way mobile phones are being used and are likely to do the same for the laptops. These figures clearly show that in such a rapidly changing market, operators and content providers need an effective mobile analytics platform - a solution that enables them to stay in touch with user demand and market trends," says Janne Aalto, CEO of CEM4Mobile Solution Ltd.
