New research from Stressless® finds 82% of Americans think gathering around Thanksgiving table is worth stress of planning

While 82% of Americans surveyed think gathering around the table with loved ones for Thanksgiving is worth all the planning stress they experience, they rate the comfort of the chairs they sit in a mere 3.7 out of 10, where 1 is extremely uncomfortable and 10 is extremely comfortable. Respondents shared their favorite topics of discussion at the Thanksgiving table: reminiscing (40%), family gossip (34%), life updates (34%), TV shows and movies (33%) and sports (30%) were the top five topics.

Survey methodology: Stressless surveyed 2,000 U.S. adults who celebrate Thanksgiving. The survey was administered and conducted online by an independent research firm on behalf of Stressless between Sept. 9 and Sept. 16, 2026.
